Sync-E, when time matters
Synchronous-Ethernet has been selected to transport simultaneously customer payloads and bauckhaul timing signals
Synchronisation is demanded by telecom operators to support 3G/LTE mobile networks and providing Circuit Emulation services. Synchronization is also demanded by electrical companies to investigate power system incidents that may occur in substations and event time-stamping.
To satisfy these demands SONET/SDH/PDH has been used for many years as timing source, the problem is that these technologies have declined so quickly and in some case fully replaced by Ethernet. that many CTOs would like to see Ethernet not only transporting data/voice/video, but also providing timing and OAM functions to finally remove existing TDM infrastructures.
Synchronous-Ethernet is the technology that can do it simultaneously while Ether.Sync is the tester you need to deploy and troubleshoot these new installations. It includes SyncE and PTP test procedures and all common features of GbE testers including RFC2544 and eSAM, this is why you can now manage ANY Ethernet network.
